Extraocular Surgeries

Squint (Strabismus)

Squint is a condition where one eye looks in a different direction than the other. It often starts in childhood and may cause double vision, lazy eye (amblyopia), and poor depth perception. It’s usually due to muscle imbalance around the eye. Treatment may include glasses, patching, or surgery to align the eye muscles and improve both vision and appearance.

DCR (DacryoCystoRhinostomy)

DCR is a surgical procedure used to treat blocked tear ducts, which cause constant tearing, discharge, and sometimes eye infections. The surgery creates a new channel for tears to drain into the nose. It is performed jointly by an eye specialist and an ENT surgeon to restore proper tear flow.

Chalazion

A chalazion is a painless swelling on the eyelid caused by a blocked oil gland. It may start as a small lump and grow gradually. Most chalazia go away with warm compresses, but if they persist or grow larger, a minor surgical procedure may be needed to remove the gland's contents.
